November 13, 2014
7:30 p.m.

Linos Frantzeskakis, PTSO Co-President welcomed everyone to the meeting

-Mr. Heshey Moses, our Board Representative
• Freehold Regional High School District is reviewing the IB program as a possible addition to the curriculum

Ms. Jewel, Freehold High School Principal
• The PARCC tests are scheduled
• SGO’s – Student Growth Objectives are being documented by the teachers and they will be held accountable for meeting these objectives

Suzie Bernardo
• 5 teacher’s grants were awarded

The Raffle drawing was held
• 1st – A. Bardone $250 Visa Card
• 2nd– Donahue $150 Visa Card
• 3rd –D. Berry $100 Visa Card

Upcoming Student Council Events
-10/11/14 – Theme for Homecoming – Boro Never Sleeps
Parade – 1:30 p.m.
Football Game – 2:30
-Donation for Freehold Downtown Memorial Garden
-Spirit Week – 1st week of October
-Food Drive for the holidays
-*2/6/14 Boro’s Got Talent
-*3/26/14 Battle of the Classes
*Student Council is asking the PTSO’s assistance in finding 1 or 2 judges

Heshey Moses – Board of Education President was not in attendance due to illness.

Principal Update – Mrs. Linda Jewell
-Less students in the high school this year – 2013-2014 approx. 1600 students
2014-2015 approx. 1480 students

-PARCC testing starts in March 2015 – The entire student body will be tested.

-Back to School Night was not well attended compared to prior years.

-Update given on maintenance occurring around the school.
New piping was installed over the summer for a new energy saving system.
Roof renovations are currently taking place. The location of roofing materials has affected Senior Parking.

-Mr. Schollenberger will be leaving Dec. 2014

PTSO President Update
-PTSO membership is down from last year. Looking for ways to increase membership and funding for the PTSO. PTSO Initiatives for fundraising currently include Membership dues and clothing sales. Suggestions for additional fundraisers included Basket Auctions, Fashion Shows, Additional Raffles, Dinner with the Spring Musical, and Basketball Games (Elementary Teachers vs. High School Teachers).

-All proceeds from the raffle go toward the Senior Scholarships

-College Career Night is October 23, 2014 at Colts Neck High School

-Next Meeting Nov. 13, 2014
